Single Strike Scroll of Scorn lets you attach the card to any of your Single Strike Pokemon, granting them an extra attack: Discarding cards is also pretty easy with this deck as you will find yourself with extra Pokemon in your hand that you don’t need. Your opponent can also use this Stadium if they have a Single Strike deck. It lets you discard any Single Strike card in order to draw 2 cards once during each turn. Tower of Darkness is the Stadium card for this deck. Urn of Vitality lets you shuffle up to 2 Single Strike Energy cards from your discard pile into your deck. Single Strike deck staplesĪlong with Houndoom and the Single Strike Energy, your three staple Trainer cards for this deck are Urn of Vitality, Tower of Darkness, and Single Strike Scroll of Scorn. Add a Crobat to that, and you only have two more spots for extra attackers. You’ll almost always want two Houndooms on your Bench. The one downside that this deck has is Bench-space. Very few decks in the current meta can match the speed of this setup, and while it does depend a bit on luck, you’ll still find it pretty consistent. This way, you can evolve your Houndoom and get 3 Energy onto your attacker in just two turns. Your goal is to have Houndour on your Bench and Gengar VMAX or Single Strike Urshifu VMAX in the Active spot within your first few turns. If you attached Energy to a Pokémon in this way, put 2 damage counters on that Pokémon. Once during your turn, you may search your deck for a Single Strike Energy card and attach it to 1 of your Single Strike Pokémon. Here’s the most important ability of this deck: The Single Strike engineĪlong with the staple Crobat V that draws cards, Hondoom is the card that will keep this deck going. The discarded Energy sounds like a huge disadvantage at first, but in the current meta, you’re going to be getting 3 Prize cards if you knock out a VMAX. Because we also have Single Strike Urshifu VMAX’s 270-damage attack that will one-shot absolutely anything in the game with that buff.

Now you can easily get over this hurdle by simply retreating to the Bench using Hiding Energy, which provides you Dark-type Energy while also giving you free Retreats.Īdd +20 (for every Single Strike Energy) to every attack mentioned in this section and you’ll realize just how broken this deck is. Gengar’s second attack does 250 damage but if you use that one, you can’t attack the next turn. In fact, a lot of these cards, such as the Scroll of Scorn, are only functional in Single Strike decks.
If you’re planning on playing more Single Strike decks (which are all pretty strong), you will be needing a lot of these cards anyway, so obtaining those via trading won’t be a waste. Even the most seemingly insignificant attributes such as 4 Marnie vs 3 Research matter, because the deck is such that you won’t be able to discard your hand with Research as much as you would in any other deck. The list of Pokemon and Trainer cards, however, is pretty important and I wouldn’t change a thing about it. The rest are still pretty good and offer advantages such as Retreat Cost buffs or recovery from Special Conditions.
